French Guadeloupe is an island in the Antilles which, with other small islets, is an overseas region reachable from our cruise. Rich in marine life, it has beautiful backdrops and is populated by coral reefs.
Guadeloupe is the largest island of the Lesser Antilles, actually formed by two sister islands separated by a strait called Rivière Salée, crossed by three road bridges. The island is full of sweet and juicy tropical fruit and of flowers such as orchids, bougainvillea and hibiscus. Although called Grande-Terre, this island is the smallest and has the most beautiful beaches found in our cruise in Guadeloupe. For lovers of surfing, the perfect destination is the beach of La Moule. We find that the second Island, Basse-Terre, is mountainous and on it stands the volcano La Soufrière. We trek, surrounded by waterfalls and colorful flowers of the tropical forest of the National Park of Guadeloupe.

The two sister islands of Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre, separated by a small natural isthmus, make up Guadeloupe, where we anchor our Costa Cruise in the Lesser Antilles.
