When thinking about Sweden, think of dense woods, wool knit sweaters, magnificent clear skies and a wonderful cruise in the Baltic Sea.
Taking a trip to Sweden means choosing a vacation in harmony with nature. Norrland, the northern region which includes the Arctic territories of Scandinavian Lapland, is the land of the elk, tundra and the aurora borealis. The area of the Central Plains of Svealand is much more hospitable and was the land of the ancient Vikings. A cruise in Sweden allows us instead to admire the fjords and reach the capital Stockholm, built on 14 islands, by sea. The cobbled alleys of Gamla Stan, the old town, will be on our walks in search of smörgårbord, the internationally renowned buffet that includes a great variety of dishes to be served with brännvi, a type of potato or cereal brandy spiced with local herbs.
