This tour will give you the chance to visit two of Bodø's most important attractions: the Norwegian Aviation Museum and the Saltstraumen Maelstrom Visitor Centre. The National Norwegian Aviation Museum tells the story of Norwegian aviation history and covers an area of 10,000 m2 with a collection of over 40 historically significant aircraft in a building shaped like a giant propeller. It is home to civilian and military aircraft and helicopters, including famous and infamous military aircraft like the Supermarine Spitfire, Canadair CF-104 Starfighter, Junkers Ju 88 and Lockheed U-2 spy plane, as well as workhorses like the Junkers Ju 52/3m, De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter or the Fokker F28 Fellowship. You will also have the chance to visit the control tower that provides a wonderful view over the town and the airfield and from where you can follow present-day aircraft and air traffic at close range. The National Norwegian Aviation Museum is one of the largest aviation museums in Northern Europe and attracts more than 40,000 visitors annually. You'll then head for the Saltstraumen Visitor Centre, where you'll see a film showing you the might of the world's strongest tidal current: it's an impressive sight, and afterwards you'll be taken to the water's edge to see the tidal currant itself. You will then be taken back to the pier.
