What we will do
  • After a short journey along the motorway our coach exits at Giarre and proceeds into the rugged Sicilian hinterland to reach the picturesque village of Santa Venerina on the slopes of Mount Etna, the largest volcano in Europe. The scenery here is fascinating and quite unique, with the typical Mediterranean maquis, the vineyards and the slopes of the volcano all coming together to create a particularly evocative landscape.
  • Enthused by views of valleys, vineyards, and picture-postcard scenery, we arrive at the San Michele Estate, an authentic, local agricultural establishment, owned by Baron Scammacca, that produces a number of prestigious wines.
  • Led by our guide, we tour the estate, and learn something about the secrets of grape processing and the long fermentation process deeply rooted in local traditions that are nonetheless supported by modern technology to transform the estate's grape harvest into that most precious of finished products; wine.
  • Our tour of the cellars ends with a mouth-watering tasting session of local wines accompanied by a variety of genuine delicacies.
