What we will do
  • We set off from the port of Salerno and head for Pompeii, a destination of great historical and archaeological interest. Just a few years after it was damaged by a violent earthquake, this ancient city of Oscan origin was completely buried under a blanket of lava and ash during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The archaeological digs that began in the 1700s and continued systematically during the last century have brought to light finds of inestimable value, guaranteed to deeply move those who visit this world-renowned site.
  • Our excursion begins at Marina Gate, leading to the Forum, the city's political and economic centre, dominated by the Temple of Jupiter and the Basilica, Pompeii's most imposing public building.
  • We walk along the via dell'Abbondanza, a street lined with houses and shops, until we reach the House of the Faun, a private noble residence, and the Forum Baths.

What you need to know
  • The excursion involves walking for about 2 hours, it is therefore recommended to wear comfortable shoes.
