Description

KOMODO TREKKING IN THE NATIONAL PARK

What we will see
  • Komodo National Park
  • Trekking through the forest
  • Komodo dragon sightings

What we will do
  • Our adventure will begin in Komodo National Park, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been listed as one of the seven wonders of the natural world since 2001.
  • Escorted by a local guide, we will enjoy an hour of trekking through the Equatorial Forest, admiring the scrub, tamarinds and waterfalls brimming with orchids.
  • Our mission is to see a Komodo dragon in its natural habitat. This incredible animal, which was interestingly only discovered in 1912, is straight out of Prehistory as it has more or less remained unchanged since the Pleistocene. It is the largest species of lizard in the world and can weigh more than 100 kg.
  • With a bit of luck, we will come across this enormous reptile. Seeing it up close will be an amazing experience! We will keep an appropriate distance, of course, because Komodo dragons are not afraid of anyone or anything - they are the top of the food chain in their environment!
  • At the end of the excursion we will return to the ship with our minds buzzing with the memory of this incredible experience. * The excursion may take place in the morning or afternoon.

What you need to know
  • We recommend that you book early because only a limited number of places are available.
  • This excursion is not recommended for guests with mobility problems.
  • This excursion involves long sections on foot; we therefore recommended wearing comfortable shoes.
  • The excursion includes the help of a local, English-speaking guide.
  • The temperature on the island is very high and there are few shaded areas, therefore we recommend that you dress accordingly and bring a bottle of water.
  • We advise you to avoid wearing red clothes or accessories.
