Description

Moments of pure relaxation at one of Fuerteventura's most famous beaches, a truly magical setting of white sands and turquoise waters.

What we will see
  • The dunes of the Corralejo Nature Park
  • Fine sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters
  • Corralejo town centre, with its shops, bars and restaurants

What we will do
  • We set off from Puerto del Rosario by coach and head north.
  • We leave Fuerteventura's typical red and brown landscape of volcanoes and plains of volcanic rock behind us and a wide expanse of rippled white sand suddenly appears before us: the sand dunes of the Corralejo Nature Park.
  • This area was declared a protected reserve in 1990 in recognition of its unique ecosystem. It is one of the island's most popular attractions. The beautiful landscape that we see is a combination of cool, crystal waters lapping the sand dunes of a Sahara-like environment.
  • The great number of bird species that live in the park places it among the "special protection areas" together with the Isla de Lobos that are recognised by European legislation for the protection of wild birds. Various endangered species live and nest in the park, providing an irresistible attraction to expert ornithologists and novice birdwatchers alike.
  • In our free time we can decide whether to laze on the beach or pay a visit to the centre of Corralejo.
  • Corralejo has grown from a small fishing village to become a bustling town with a busy port offering connections to the nearby island of Lanzarote.
  • Shoppers will be at a loss faced with the wide choice available: the town has a wealth of stores selling surfing apparel and a wide range of outfits from leading labels, as well as a wide selection of traditional island souvenirs.
  • Elegant bars and restaurants on the seafront, the perfect spot to enjoy a cool drink or some delicious seafood while you gaze at the blue ocean.
