An unmissable excursion through the lush Caribbean national forest, an ideal opportunity to admire the beauty of nature in the tropics.

What we will see
  • El Yunque National Forest
  • Torre Yokahu
  • Local arts and crafts shops

What we will do
  • No journey to Puerto Rico can be considered complete without a visit to the majestic El Yunque rain forest. Be prepared for a fascinating tour along the north eastern coast of Puerto Rico up to the national Caribbean rain forest, in the area of the Luquillo mountain range. During the excursion the scenery varies from lush green summits dotted with red flowers to giant leaves and dense vegetation, typical of the jungle, all sparsely enveloped in a veil of humid low clouds.
  • Our attention is captured by an infinite variety of wild coloured orchids, spectacular waterfalls, giant ferns and beautiful broad-leaved trees and, if we are lucky, we can spot brightly coloured parrots and innumerable bird species that live in this enchanting place that UNESCO has rightly declared to be a World Heritage Site.
  • During the excursion we stop at the tourist recreational centre and we can climb to the top of Torre Yokahu, a 69 metre high observation post from where, on a clear day, you can see as far as St. Thomas Island which is 62 miles east of Puerto Rico.
  • There are other stops at various arts and crafts shops and places where refreshments are served.

What you need to know
  • We recommend that you book early because only a limited number of places are available.
  • During the journey across Mount El Yunque to the rainforest, the air conditioning on the coach will be temporarily turned off for 45 minutes.
