  • Flight from Santiago de Chile and Lima and overnight stay in Lima
  • Flight from Lima to Cuzco

  • Tour of Machu Picchu
  • Train transfer to Cuzco with dinner
  • Flight from Cuzco to Santiago de Chile
  • Visit of the famous Chilean vineyards
  • Return to the port of San Antonio

What we will do
  • The first day of our excursion is entirely dedicated to travelling: we set off from Puerto Montt, where we take a two-hour flight to Santiago de Chile and, from there, another flight to Lima, the capital of Peru where we spend the night.
  • The second day is probably the most important and anticipated moment of the tour: we set off from Lima by plane on a two-hour flight to Cuzco, the ancient capital of the Inca empire now famous for its archaeological ruins and Spanish colonial architecture.
  • From Cuzco airport, we reach the Ollanta train station: we board our train for a one-hour transfer to Aguas Calientes where a small coach awaits us for the climb all the way up to Machu Picchu, one of the most enigmatic and surprising places on Earth, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the seven wonders of the modern world.
  • Rediscovered in 1911 by professor Hiram Bingham during a mountain expedition, Machu Picchu has a strategic location on a plateau 2,400 metres above sea level. The name derives from the Quechua words machu, meaning “old”, and pikchu, which can be translated as “peak” or “mountain”.
  • Surrounded by lush semi-tropical greenery and hidden by majestic mountains, the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu is considered the most important archaeological site in South America and one of the best examples of sacred architecture in the world. It is also the third largest archaeological site after Pompeii and Ostia Antica.
  • After visiting Machu Picchu, we get back on our coach to return to Aguas Calientes and, from there, go on a one-hour train transfer to Cuzco. A delicious dinner is served on the train.
  • After spending the night in Cuzco, we return to Santiago de Chile by plane on the morning of the third day and get the chance to visit the area's famous vineyards.
  • After our visit, we return to the port of San Antonio where our ship awaits us.
