Camboriu takes its name from the tupi language and means “River of Basses”. Among the surroundings you will find beautiful beaches and natural spots of great charm.

The city of Camboriu, formerly inhabited by indigenous people, was colonised by the Portuguese in the 16th century, as was the territory of current day Brazil. Its cultural landscape, influenced by the European spirit, has several religious festivals and quaint traditions, including the Feast of the Divine Spirit between May and June. A walk on the Avenida Atlantica will allow you to admire the sunset over the ocean and some of the city's major attractions. If you prefer to spend a relaxing day at the beach, you'll be spoilt for choice: around the city are the wonderful Praia das Laranjeiras, Praia dos Amores, Praia do Estaleiro or Estaleirinho Beach.
