Gang Jeong Port/Jeju

Jeju Island is a volcanic island of South Korea, famous for its legends recounting the history of its people. 

On Jeju Island, the most famous artefact, the"harubang" or “stone grandfather”. These statues, made of a single block of stone, are said to offer protection and fertility to the inhabitants. The legends about their origins are many, and they are now a popular attraction. Small artefacts are sold to tourists for good luck.
