Hakodate

Hakodate is the southernmost city of the Island of Hokkaido, the northernmost part of Japan.

Mount Hakodate, whose peak is reachable by cable car, offers a splendid view of the city, made special by the presence of many churches with their bell towers. In fact, Orthodox belief spread to Hakodate due to the presence of the Russian Embassy. Foodies simply must taste the best ramen (rice with seafood) of Japan, but you will also find great Hakodate donburi (rice with fish, meat and stewed vegetables), live cuttlefish (for the more adventurous) and delicious crab. All the venues are close to the fish market, which is well worth a visit.
