The UK government has introduced the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) online, which must be presented before embarkation along with the passport.

The ETA document must be shown by guests of nationalities that do not require a visa to enter the UK, in addition to the valid passport which remains mandatory.

The ETA is not required for:

British citizens,
Irish citizens,
British Overseas Territories Citizens (BOTC) traveling with a BOTC passport,
Third-country nationals legally residing in Ireland and traveling to the UK, for whom a visa is not required.

Meanwhile, the online Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is not required for guests belonging to nationalities for which a visa is required to enter the UK. In this case, it will be sufficient to present a valid passport and visa.

If the passenger does not have the documentation required by local regulations, including the ETA document where necessary, Costa will not be able to allow boarding.
