Port Mahon

The island of Menorca is a real bonus: beautiful, fierce and alive. You can also get yourself a pair of the famous Menorquina slippers here.

Port Mahon is the gateway of Menorca. Although it only became the administrative capital in 1722, the town and its port have administered the Menorcan life for a long time. So it’s worth starting with a visit to the port. It will offer you a unique perspective on the buildings of the British arsenal, the island of Cuarantena and the surrounding buildings. Back on dry land, take a look round the fish market before visiting the Museum of Menorca. Don’t forget to try the local cheese and leave yourself some time to stroll through the old town.
